Now that you have a website, you probably want to get as much traffic as possible to your site.  As you probably know, there are many ways to get traffic to your site.  Some are free, and some cost money.  Obviously, you would like to take advantage of as many of the free ways as possible.  Here is a list of some of the free ways you can get traffic to your site:

• Use a Signature.  Every time you send out an email or post on a forum, right underneath your name you should have your website.  This is because if people like what you have to say, they might check out your website.  If you are posting really helpful posts, this can be especially good.  This way, many people will get a chance to see your website.  Also, by posting your website as your signature in a forum, you will get links back to your site which helps with search engine rankings.
• Get Links to your Site.  Do a search on the web to find other websites that are similar, or complementary to your website.  Email the webmaster, and see if they will put a link to your site.  You can do the same with theirs.  This way someone who is already interested in the topic may come to your site.
• Classified Ads.  There are many online classifieds that will allow you to list your ad for free.  This will allow others to see it and visit your site, as well as give you more links back to your website.
• Write Articles.  When you write an article and post it on an article directory, you have a bio section at the bottom.  If someone enjoys your article, they may want to see what other information you have to share, and might visit your website.
• Have good quality content on your website.  When you have good content, the search engines will notice it.  Then, when someone does a search in Google, Yahoo, or another search engine, your website will come up as a good result for your topic, and you will get even more traffic.

There are many ways you can get free traffic to your website.  You just have to get your (website) name out there, and before you know it, you will be getting tons of traffic!

I received my first issue of Revenue magazine, the how-to-guide on affiliate marketing this past week.  I should start by saying that ever since I have started my own business, I’ve been looking at different magazines, to see what kinds were helpful.  I now have a subscription to Entrepreneur, Inc, Fast Company and more..and while I enjoy reading them, none of them really deal too much with the completely online entrepreneur who does a lot of affiliate marketing.

I don’t have to look any further.  Revenue is great.  It’s completely targetted towards people who are affiliates, or run affiliate programs.  Even most of the ads were interesting to me.  So I am very excited, and already can’t wait until the next issue.

• Google Docs & Spreadsheets - If you don’t have Microsoft Office, but still want to use word processing and spreadsheet tools, this is a great option. 
• Pear Budget - This can help you with your budgeting and help you keep track of your business expenses.

There are many applications that you can find free versions of, so many times you don’t need to spend any money in order to get the tools that can help you with your business.

After reading the article Jimmy D. Brown wrote yesterday, I thought you might want to read a special report of his.  It’s a 24 page report, and really explains how just writing small reports (nothing big) you can make a lot of money.  His description of the report is, “How to turn 7-15 page reports into a 6-figure empire”, and is called 5 Steps To Big Profit. 

After reading it, I was pumped up…and really want to start writing them.  I think it’s a great idea!  It’s also a lot easier than writing huge e-books.  Hope you like it!

I want to share a website that I use in order to keep track of what I’m working on.  I use Vitalist, which is a free website.  It lets you create tasks with as much or as little information as you want.  You can also assign tasks to categories.  Since I have multiple web sites to work on, I have them separated by site.  Another great thing is they also have an inbox, where you can just put other tasks that are not under the projects.  Here I can put other things I need to get done that aren’t necessarily associated with any of the web sites I work on - like going food shopping, and other things that I need to get done.

I love using this, as I can easily cross something off when I am finished, so I can see how much I am getting accomplished every day.  I also like that it archives your finished tasks, so that you can see everything you have accomplished in the past week, past month, or within a certain project.

They have a version that you can pay $5.00 a month for, but since I don’t need to share my list with anyone, the free version is great for me!   I really recommend either this site, or using a similar site such as Ta-da List or Remember the Milk.  It will really help keep you organized, and help you get more work accomplished.
